HELL'S RAVINE

This route does not in Marina Baixa exactly either. But it is very close.

I want to talk about it because it is one of my favourites routes althought I couldn't finish it because of time. I had to leave from Fleix (place where "Hell's Ravine" is) and I came back before expected.

And I will say you more, we (Mario, Ana and me) want to do it when we finish our last exams. I dare you to come with us!

Anyway. The route starts in Fleix and finish in Benimaurell. At start you will see a fount where normally you could fill you water bottle.

It is specially important this time. Hell's Ravine takes around 4h minimum. But it is normal to finish it in 5 or 5 and a half hours. Then I recommend to have slept well the previous night and stop some minutes at least one time to eat something.

The first stage is known by its steps. It has more than 6.400 steps (this explanains why people normally start in Fleix and do not in Benimaurell). Sincerely, amazing!

Before you arrive to the river, you will see a beautiful hole at rock called "Foradada"

There are still many steps to the river. So we did not rest many time. Along path you will see the river more times. But there is only water in the rainy seasons.

In the route there are 6 long and continuous ups and downs (3 ups and 3 downs). That is the reason people call this route "legs breaker"

The route is very well signposted and you will not have any problem to follow the path.

Halfway there is other water fountain. So do not worry about drinking all you want.

Finally you will arrive to Benimaurell. Now you have only to walk back to Fleix on the road. But it is not dangerous. Only a few vehicles use those roads and them do not run fast.
