800 RAID TRAIL

Today we will talk about a very common accessory in hiking. The stick.

The stick is a long and slim object that helps you to walk. The top has a handle to catch the stick and the bottom has a peak to be nailed into the ground.

CAMELBAK HYDROBAK 2015

There are a lot of camelbak sorts, but I think it would be fine to talk about my own camelbak, which I lended to my brother at his Christmas trip in January.

This kind of bag has one principal advantage, you can carry liquid, for instance water or isotonic, and drink it without take off the bag. For this function, it has a straw which connect the bag with the mouth, allowing you to drink at every moment.

The characteristics about this specific bag: tank with 1,5 litres of capacity, adjustable sashes, a front pocket with zipper, and the possibility of choose between four colours (black, blue, yellow or red).

Finally, I would tell you the price of that fantastic mountain complement: it's only 40,90€!!!

I hope you like it, and I'm sure it will come of to useful on your trips!!

MAS DE LA MONJA AND CAUTIVADOR'S HILL

Hello again guys!!!

Today we come to Cautivador Hill in La Nucia.

In our tour we'll cycle  along the "Mas de la Monja" area, visiting "The oncle Roig's cave", a great point where you can recover eating something.

Trail to the Oncle Roig's Cave

RISE TO THE ROOF OF ALICANTE (AITANA)

This mountain is 1.558 metres, so it's the highest mountain of Alicante. Only by this fact it will be interesting to reach its top.

How to arrive (by Diario Información)
Talking about how to arrive to the point to start walking it's important to pinpoint where Aitana's mountain is. It is located near Benifato, so we have to drive by CV-70 from Benidorm to Alcoy or from Alcoy to Benidorm. At the moment we see the drift to Benifato we have to take it, but before arrive to this village we have to go to Partagás Springs (clearly signposted). After 4 km driving by a steep road, we'll be at Partagás Springs, where we have to park and start walking.

Aitana's route (by bicisenderistasnovatas)
This circle track is 10,37 km length and medium difficulty, because it has the Paso de la Zorra, a complicated place to keep walking, but anything special to have to return.

The total of the track will take you 3 hours and a half, but if you want to enjoy the views or a snack at this beautiful landscape, it will take you some more time.

Snow at Aitana's top (by ruralguadalest web)
About the appropiate season to go hiking to this place there is only one advice, not to do this route at the middle hours during the summer. If you want to go during the winter be careful because sometimes there is snow on its top.

I encourage you to visit this fantastic spot!

ALGAR WATERFALLS

Today we're going to talk about Algar Waterfalls. This beautiul place is only 15 km from Benidorm and 3 km from the center of Callosa d'en Sarrià.

To reach that place we have to go by CV-775 in direction to Callosa d'en Sarrià, and then take CV-/15 direction Bolulla, where we'll see the signal to Algar Waterfalls (Fuentes del Algar in Spanish).

How to arrive (by Diario Información)

The track is 11,48 km length because you have to go and return. Go over this distance will take 3 hours and 45 minutes without stops, but it can be good to stop to enjoy the views and all the hideouts this little paradise has.

The difficulty of the track is not important because is an easy route owing to is all the time by paths, roads... The only thing that can be a little confused is the start of the track, because it isn't marked as a PR, so you have to start walking without a reference, but there is just one option.

Talking about the important things to wear or take, we must underline the importance of wearing an appropiate shoes (mountain boots), trousers (not shorts better because there are some thorny plants), some food, water (there aren't water points during the track), camera...

And if you are going to do this route in summer, it can be a good option to have a quick cooling dip, so you must have a swimsuit and a towel.

In my opinion, if want to do hiking the best season is spring, because in summer it can be too hot to have 4 hours walking.

COSTA BLANCA BIKE RACE 2015

Hi you all!

Here you have a great video from Costa Blanca Bike Race 2015, which crosses many of the places that we're talking about on this blog.

In this race took part Sergio Mantecón (MTB World cup competitor in Albstadt, Alemania 2013) and one of the best spanish MTB cyclist.

Although I prefer the non-competitive MTB's part, this race is interesting because it shows the effort from many MTB fans at completing the race.

Enjoy the video and carry on pedaling!

BERNIA SPRINGS

Today we're going to visit a place near Polop, Altea, Calpe and Callosa d'en Sarrià. That place is Bernia mountain range.

Bernia springs track (by Diario Información)
The start of our circle way is Casas del Runar, and the track is 9,32 km length. The total time to complete the track is about 3 hours and a half, but it depends of the stops and the rate.

The difficulty of the track is medium because the way is all the time marked and accessible. Just there are sometimes when it has loosed stones, so you must be careful in those sections.

I recommended wearing boots, cap, sunglasses, camera, a bag with water and some food... Even though there are three water points during the track.

The place where we have to park to start the track are Casas del Runar, driving by CV-775 road, and stopping between 18 and 19 km, where we can see an STOP traffic sign painted on the road. This is the place where we have to turn left and start the ascent to Casas del Runar, where is the car park.

To start the track it's necessary to see a water tank, and this is start point of our track.  From this point you just must walk following the marks and return, 4 hours later approximately, to the start point. At this time, you will sure enjoy beautiful views, the flora and fauna, and surely the Bernia springs.

VERTICAL KILOMETER ON THE PUIG CAMPANA

Today we will speak about another famous route on the Puig Campana. This one is very known by runners who train for a competition. But our objective it is not to prepare a competition. We only want to enjoy ourselves in the natural environment and it is possible there. So here we go.

IFACH'S CRAG IN CALPE

Ifach's Crag is one of the most known places in White Coast. It is in Calpe (Alicante) near to Benidorm. It is not in Marina Baixa but because of his importance and closeness i want to let you know about it.

This route is advisable to everybody because it is not very difficult. However, I would recommend a medium physical condition to finish the route or you will be very tired at the end. In the Crag there is only one way to reach the top. Then it is impossible to get lost.

SALOMON SPEEDCROSS 3 CS

Specialized pages which analyze this kind of shoes already exist, but our intention is to give advice as a friend would.

The design is very attractive and aggressive. They are a really nice trail shoes.

CIRCULAR ROUTE ON THE PUIG CAMPANA

I open this section with one of my favourites routes. It's like a good espresso, short but very intense.

HERE WE GOOO!!!
